I was born and raised in London and love it!
From the crazy, bustling atmosphere of the West End, to seeing and being with people of every culture makes me feel really lucky to be living in such a vibrant city. On my thrown, functional ceramic pieces I record snap-shots of my everyday life in the home and around London by using sgraffito. Sgraffito not only embeds the image into the clay but also in my mind. I feel that everyone can take things for granted, so by creating pieces I aim to show the importance of famous landmarks and everyday life scenes.
This dish features a scene of Saint Katherine's Dock from a photo taken on my birthday. It was a calm, fresh afternoon and the boats were bobbing happily in the breeze. I make a range of different sized bowls and dishes. This dish was approx 25cm diameter.

These small dishes were decorated with sgraffito using drawings of my bedroom. I zoom in and out of the drawings to pick out things that are important to me and show normality being special as it is the focus.
I hope everyone can find something in my pieces that makes them smile!
