My
work is concerned with the translucent qualities of porcelain once fired.
I work with thin sections of clay building up texture and shape to form
ceramic lights. The lights I make are strongly linked to meny different
influences from landscape to architecture. The aim of these lights is to
create a shadowy light that evokes a mood and atmosphere. |

My
making process is to do with letting the clay develop its own identity.
These can occur through the making, drying, and firing of the porcelain
when it can shrink and warp. This can produce torn uneven sections that
because of the thinness of the clay gives a sense of fragility when
lit |
