My work refers to the human condition – of connection and transformation in the context of a relationship that transcends the physical world. It is handbuilt using a variety of clays on an ever increasing scale. Forms are essentially abstract with strong references to landscape and the human form, particularly the face. Using texture and engobes, the depth and patina of the surface is developed through a succession of firings to high temperatures.
