ARTIST STATEMENT
Objects can be moved away from me and ultimately disappear from my perception of reality. An object can be present because it can be absent.
My own body exists in a very different way. My own body does not stand in front of me as an object. My being is an obstacle to my encounters, it is a particular thing in the world, and its presence does not imply a possible absence. My body is the margins of all my perceptions.
It is because we are subjects and not just objects that we need extra care.
I attempt to translate in my mixed media works the dimension of sadness, invisibility, desire and visibility, time and healing.
My work is dedicated to all humans who were not, are not and will not be treated with extra care.
