ARTIST STATEMENT
Through my work I want to highlight the preciousness of life and the rituals of food and drink with objects that are both special and tactile. I am attracted to porcelain as a material because of its whiteness and translucency, and because of the fluidity that throwing can give to it. My theme is the tension between looseness and tightness and I try to push this material to the limit within the boundaries of function. Layers of glazes are added to the objects, recalling the colours and textures of my homeland, Liguria.
I want to see my work used and handled in shared hospitality in a cosy and familiar environment.
